A French Collectivity, St. Barts is one of the Leeward
Islands in the Caribbean.
Now a playground for the rich and famous, St. Barts
was once owned by Sweden.
St. Barts' airport, Aeroport de St-Jean (SBH), is
only used for commercial flights and receives no private
airplanes. You can fly there from Puerto Rico, St.
Maarten, St. Thomas and Guadeloupe.
Aeroport de St-Jean is known for it's incredibly
short runway and dangerous approach. By all accounts,
aircraft barely clear a hill-top road prior to the real
landing.
If you want to take less hectic transportation to St.
Barts, St. Martin/St. Maarten has a ferry.
Once you do get to St. Barts, you are practically
guaranteed a good time. The consensus of visitors there
rate their experience as "fantastic."
